Family Services

Do you need help ensuring that your child is able to get the best educational programs and services available? Robyn Honiberg can help.

Assess Educational Situations

After meeting with a family Robyn is available to:

  • Observe children in current school programs,
  • Visit and evaluate alternative or proposed educational placements, and
  • Interpret assessments as needed

Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

In consultation with the family and educators Robyn can:

  • Synthesize developmental history, previous and current evaluations, school history and other information necessary to make an educational recommendation,
  • Prepare draft IEPs for parents and educators
  • Critique and provides input into development of IEPs and accomodations (504 plans),
  • Recommend educational programs to meet a child's needs, as well as, appropriate teaching techniques.

Case Management

Robyn serves as a case manager and ensures ongoing communication between the family, school personnel and outside professional staff. Robyn will:

  • Provide parents with a single point of contact to facilitate the process of making inquirieis and obtaining answers from various individuals and parties involved in a child's case
  • Refer family to appropriate professionals for additional services

Parent Advocacy Training

Robyn is available to::

  • Attend school meetings with parents
  • Help negotiate services, programs or other resources as required
  • Provide training to parents about the education laws, their rights and effective advocacy techniques.
